Descaling

Wear gloves and protective goggles during descaling. Do not touch the descaling product with bare hands, and be careful of the boiling water that may come out of the machine.

This takes about 20 minute to resolve.

Warning: this operation will make your machine inactive for 20 minutes.

Check the drain before descaling

Fill the cleaning tray with exactly 1 liter of water. Remove the drip grid from the drip tray and have your timer ready.Pour 1 liter of water into the drip tray and start the timer at the same time. Check whether the water drains completely within 30 seconds.

WARNING

If it takes longer than 30 seconds for 1 liter of water to drain, the drip tray will overflow during the descaling process, which can cause serious damage.Pour hot water into the drain to improve drainage and repeat STEP 1. If the issue persists, do not continue with the descaling process and contact your maintenance technician.

Start the descaling process via the maintenance menu

Touch the upper left corner of the touchscreen to activate the gear icon. Press it to open the service / cleaning / maintenance menu.

Select ‘Maintenance’; the maintenance window will appear.Take out the descaling cartridge and press ‘Play’ on the touchscreen.

Pull to remove the dregs tray from the machine. Empty the dregs tray and clean it with water, a household cleaning agent, and a brush.

Remove the left front panel and take off the green cap by turning it counterclockwise.Place the unwrapped descaling cartridge at a 45° angle and insert it. Lock it by turning it clockwise.

Put the dregs tray back in place and remove the dairy products

Put the dregs tray back into the machine.Open the refrigerator and remove the milk container or milk cartons. Discard the remaining milk or put it back in the refrigerator during the descaling process.

Cleaning tray in the refrigerator

“Place the cleaning tray in the refrigerator and attach the milk tube to the lid. Keep the refrigerator door open!

Remove the descaling cartridge once the descaling process is complete.Put the green safety cap back in place and close the front flap.

Clean the refrigerator and restore the milk components.
