What is a lungo?

The name already gives it away a little. A Caffé Lungo, or a "long coffee," is a type of coffee with a long extraction process. A Lungo is therefore sometimes referred to as a "stretched espresso." But how exactly do you make a Lungo? And which coffee beans should you use for the perfect Lungo coffee?

Coffee beans and powder

Lungo coffee

A Lungo is similar to an espresso, but it’s made with twice as much water. This makes the brewing process longer and gives the coffee a more intense, often slightly more bitter flavor with more caffeine. Served in a larger cup, it’s the perfect choice for those who want to enjoy a strong coffee for a longer time.

Which beans are the best for your Lungo coffee?

The foundation for a good Lungo consists of Arabica and Robusta beans with a subtle character. In addition to loose beans, you can also opt for capsules with elegant flavor combinations, specially selected for the perfect Lungo coffee.
